THANK YOU so much for going to the Best Friends Adoption Fair in Indianapolis this May.  We adopted Bodhi, and he is the most wonderful dog in the entire world.  H eloves to play soccer and chase butterflies and squirrels around the back yard.  (All the neighbors are jealous!)  We took him on vacation in Michigan and he loved playing around in the water and sand with his cousins.  He is always happy to see you and growls out of excitment when he wakes up in the morning or when we come home.  Bodhi is the perfect dog!

Hello,

We adopted Cash at the Pet Expo on Sat. and I just wanted to send a few photos and let you know that he is such a joy. Both my husband, Lucian, and I are enjoying every moment with him. He is a wonderful dog, very loving and affectionate and can't wait to climb in bed and cuddle with you yet he loves to get down and play with his toys, run around the yard and although he seems a little stressed about going for a walk he is walking great on the lease already and with lots of praise he now has a little pep in his step as he walks next to me! He is very attentive and looks and listens to every command. I can not believe that he wasn't adopted out sooner but I am thankful. He is even doing great with the house training and we have had no issues with him at all! He even goes over to the door when he needs to go out.

Thank you so much for taking care of this little joy until we found him!

Hi Brandy!
Daisy slept the whole way home! She is adjusting just fine to
everyone! She ate fine, and explored the yard tonight too. :) She
is having fun with all the toys and rawhides that are all over my
house! She doesn't mind my cats, and they adjusted to her right
away! She is sleeping with all the other dogs in the living room
right now! Thank you! I will keep you posted!

Gypsy is a feisty little girl that came to us all the way from New Orleans.  She has won our hearts and is slowly adjusting to her new life.  While she is not thrilled with the sudden cold Indiana temperatures, she loves going to the park and running and playing with her new brothers and sister.  In the evenings you will find her snuggled up next to you on the couch snoozing.  She loves sleeping in her new big bed and just can't seem to get close enough.  Her new brother, Romeo is her best buddy, they play together for hours, running, flipping balls to chase and wrestling with each other.  She will soon be going to school to fine tune her manners and have some fun on the agility course to help burn off energy in the cold winter months.  We are so happy that she found her way to our home.  She is full of energy and kisses and we love our Gypsy Rose.

W
e adopted Star from you back in August and decided to write to thank you for giving us the chance to adopt Star.

We feel so lucky to have seen her beautiful picture on Petfinder. Every day I am amazed by her eagerness to learn and desire to spend time with us. She loves showing off that she knows how to sit, laydown, and goof off in the back yard. We also often enjoy a good laugh from her goofy antics. Star loves to make sure that everyone around can lavish attention on her. It only took two days before she was sleeping with us in the bed and now each night I get to sleep next the happiest dog in the world. The grin she has on her face says it all. If Star is not chewing on her bone she is playing with her toys. She gets to go on all kinds of car rides to families homes and the dog park where she gets to play with her friend Nikki (Ryan's brother's dog).  I have found a group that we meet with every weekend to do group walks. We even get to do off-leash walks at one of the groups member's huge farm not too far from Fort Wayne!  Everywhere Ryan and I take her people always comment on how well behaved and beautiful she is.  I can`t wait until it starts to snow and get to see Star play in it. Ryan and I want to thank you so much for Star. She is such a wonderful part of our lives. We have included some pictures of Star, we hope you enjoy them.

Thank you,
Andrea and Ryan

Hey there!

I renamed Gus "Charlie", after the doggie in All Dogs Go To Heaven. lol!
He is doing SO well, and learning so fast :)  I attached some pics... they aren't very recent though. He's growing so fast.  I have a goofy question though.  Do you have any suggestions for GOOD dry dog foods?  It seems like all the big name brand foods are crappy.  Hope your Gustav puppies have found forever homes.  Julius is VERY cute.  Oh, if only I had room for two ;)

My husband and I just adopted Angel at the Indy Pet Expo on Saturday.  We've actually renamed her Eva.  We just wanted to say thank you for raising such a sweetie!  She is amazing!  We've never had such a calm, loving dog.  She is already adjusting well to her new home.
Thank you!

Hi Brandy!
We are doing GREAT  here in Ohio with Stockdale.  My husband did change his name to Murphy.  He has taken to that well.  He is doing so good with everything.  He is great in the kennel and potty training is going good.  Each day he gets better and better on his leash.  We start puppy classes in January.  Our daschund, Doc is getting along with him well!  They play and cuddle together.  He helped us rake the yard today and loved the leaves.  Actually we raked and he plowed through the piles but it wore him out.  Thanks again.

Hello Brandy.

We just love her.  We re-named her Daisie.  She is such a cutie and is very sweet.  Our other dog enjoys playing with her.   She is learning to potty outside and does great on the leash.

Thanks for letting us adopt her.  She is a sweetie girl.

Hi!

We made it home safely and Lilly seems to be adjusting well.  She is walking on a leash like a pro!  We did buy a crate and keep her in there at night to sleep...although she absolutely hates it and cries for quite awhile!

It was nice to meet you and thank you for taking such good care of her.  She is an absoute sweetheart!

Just wanted to give you a quick email and let you know that
Molly is doing great. We are still interested if you run across
another Mastiff or Bernard with a gentle temperment as we
are VERY happy with Molly.  She is a very good-natured,
gentle dog.

Hope you're doing well.

Hi Brandy,
Just a note to let you know that Nella is doing great.  She is
feeling much better now.  We had a long trip back to Michigan
in all that snow but she was well worth the trip.
Thanks for all you do.

We'd love to thank Country Kennel Bully Rescue for our WONDERFUL addition to the
family. Cato is a great dog...obedient, patient, kind, caring, and so sociable that
everywhere we go he must say hi to everyone. He is our first "bully breed"
(American Bulldog) and having him in our life...we wonder now how we survived without
him. Cato is the clown of the house. There isn't a day that goes by where he doesn't make
us all laugh to tears.
Thank you so much for giving him a second chance at life, and allowing us to make him
a part of our family.

Puppy kisses from Cato!!
BIG thanks from James, Ami & Ellen

Brandy, i just wanted to drop you a quick note to let you know Rocket is doing Great and
adjusting well to his new home. He is the biggest baby and wants nothing but love and to
play. Here are a few pics just so you can see. I will admit i knew very little about the breed
prior to our decision to takeing him, but now i see that they do get a bad rap. We couldn't
ask for a more loveing and gentle dog who loves everybody and just wants attention. If you
ever need to give anyone a reference as to adopting a bully feel free to give them my name
and number. Thanks Again! Your doing a GOOD thing..Keep it up!!

I just wanted to let you know that Tilly is doing well. She has been eating like crazy and is starting to fill out. She is still very timid and shy, but she seems to be coming around.

She loves my mom and cries when my mom leaves the room.

She is so funny and we all love her already!

Buddy is doing extremely well, he is used to our friends coming around and is comfortable
with them picking him up and sitting in their laps.  He will walk into the Pet Smart store
now.  Before there were to many people and to much action for him.  He starts obedience
school this Friday for eight weeks.  This will include socialization, and come which he
doesn't want to do unless the word treat is attached, basic manners which is has.  He is
really coming around and beginning to take an interest in everything.  Paul takes him to
trails every day and they walk anywhere from one to three miles a day.  He likes water and
jumps off the bridges on the trails in to it.  When it gets warmer we have a part in town
that they can go without a leash and they have a beach where he can go swimming.

We bought one of the hooks you put in your yard and can move around to keep him with
us when we are in the yard.  We tried to let him loose and we chased him for an hour and
a half, he thought that was a great game.   He is getting used to the light weight plastic
rope he is attached to and can move around and interact with everyone.  He has been
outside for the last three days and he is so tired that you have to pick him up out of his
bed to see him.  Usually he comes and sits in the chair with me and snuggles but he is
tired and sleep later than us in the morning.  He just goes to the bed and gets under the
covers and goes back to bed.

He has made friends with both cats but the male cat Cecil is his best friend forever.  They
play and chase each other all day long.  Cecil is actually shorter but about the same body
size as Buddy.  I have attached a couple of pictures for you to see that he is pampered,
spoiled and loved.  I have also attached a picture of Cecil when he discovered that we had
brought a dog home.  All our friends say he is coming around really fast now that he has
been exposed.  He rides in the car all the time, I think he has been left home about two or
three times since we have had him.

We didn't realize how much extra work a rescue dog would be but we are glad we have
him.  It has taken a while to get his trust and adjusted to the new world he was thrown
into.  He is filling out now after all the exercise, his chest is filling out and his neck is
strong and filled out and he is building muscle.

Will keep you informed of his progress.

Brandy,
My husband and I adopted King (aka Otie) from you last February.  I saw you were copied on one of Jean Wilson's emails.  I thought I'd send you an email with a few pictures.  We now have three adopted dogs.  King is a great dog!  He's very respectful and loving.  He loves to snuggle and squeeze his big butt in between us on the couch :)  Hope you enjoy!

Thank you for fostering him and helping him find a home!

Hello!
Here is a picture of Pearl, our pride and joy!
As you can see, she is really fitting right in here and she is relaxing and taking a nap in the Sunroom!
We are really enjoying Pearl. She loves to go on trips with us and she has done really well with housebreaking. I have used the Can method.
We're so happy we found her on your Rescue Site!

Hi Brandy,

We just thought we’d let you know Dolly has been great.  We are really glad we have her in our “family”.  She is losing the timidity and is feeling very much at home.  Just thought I’d say “thanks” and share a few photos with you of her.  The blonde dog is our 11-yr old pit bull/boxer.

Brandy,

We adopted Beasly in April. He's been renamed Sawyer and has made our home his own. After just a day or two he was sleeping in bed with/between my husband and I. He loves going for car rides and has already won over everyone at our Vet clinic. He loves to play in the back yard with our other dogs and has no fear even of our big boy. He seemed so sad when we brought him home but has gotten back to being playful. He has to have his cuddle time in the morning , play time in the evening and more cuddle time before bed time. Bath time is a blast as he runs around the house afterward like a crazy dog rubbing on everything and everyone he can get to. We cannot thank you enough for helping bring Sawyer into our family. After losing our dog in February to cancer, she was 12 we never would of thought we would of found a new dog to love. Sawyer seems like he was made to be in our family.

Thank you again for all you do and for helping us bring Sawyer into our family. I've attached a couple pictures to show you how well he is doing.

Thank you

Hey Brandy,
I'm not sure if you remember me or not but I adopted a brother and sister from you over a year ago. Just wanted to touch base with you and let you know they are growing up very well!! They still go for walks up to 3 times a day...too spoiled to get chained out ;-)  They get to play with other dogs not as often as I would like but they still get too and that's all that matters, they also get to enter act with the people in the neighborhood...they (the people) are getting used to seeing us so much so now they want to meet them...although the dogs are a little frightened at first but they warm up to them shortly!!
That's all I have for now sorry the pics weren't more up to date they were from the beginning of the year.
Their names again were Titan (85lbs) and Jasmine (65lbs) they are my life I love them too death Thanks again for putting the joy back in my heart after losing my first baby boy Rupert!

God bless you and all the hard work you do,

Hi:

Finally he went to groomer.  It went well.  However, my husband and I think Edgar's hair should be long like show dog except around his face.  He loves this doggy bed and during day he sleeps there everyday.

Beginning he did not want to come down stairs so we thought he was afraid to go down but now he can go up and down the stairs no problem.  Lorita can not go down by herself so I carry her each time when we go to down stairs.  Edgar loves his treat and he loves to be petted.  He does special dance like snoopy used to do rubbing his back against the top of the bed....it's very cute.

We have not taking him for boat ride.  When it's really hot day we usually take our doggies to lake and go swimming.  I have life jackets for doggies when we go for ride. I think he will do fine.  Still loud noise bothers him but that is getting better too.

I wanted to share about Edgar's life with you.  Thanks for caring about animals.  Tomoko

Thought you might enjoy some updates on my new little addition. His name is Otis. Yes, now I have a Milo and Otis. Sounds a little cliche but he just seems like an Otis. He's doing great! When I got him, he was just a little over 4 pounds. He's now a whopping 12 pounds at 13 weeks old. My vet is still asuring me that he probably won't get much bigger than 15-20 pounds full grown, and I'm hoping that's the case. As you can see from the pictures, he is most definitely a puggle, but you've probably figured that out from the rest of the group by now.

I love him dearly, and he is a joy to have around. Never a dull moment with he and Milo and the other two house guest dogs romping and playing. He thinks he's one of the big dogs, and does a pretty good job keeping up with them - just an occasional squeal now and then. He knows to "potty outside" and does a fairly good job, but still doesn't totally get it that "outside" is the only place to potty - but we're working on it. He knows how to sit up pretty, sit, stay, and down. Walking the two of them together is quite the adventure still, but he does a great job on a leash and did from the very beginning.

Sadly, I had to have my sixteen year old Muttley put down a few weeks ago. That's been very difficult, but the other two help to take my mind away from my grief.

Thank you for what you do, and thank you for allowing me the pleasure of adopting my sweet Otis. I know we'll have many years of fun and joy together.

Hello Country Kennel Bully Rescue!

I just wanted to thank you again for introducing me to my new little dog!! She was known as Bambi when you had her, but I started calling her Daisy and she picked up on it rather quickly!!  She is so sweet & loving and has really turned into a playful little girl the more comfortable she has become in her new home!! She truly is loving life down in Florida! We've only made it to the beach once, but she's made many friends and enjoys life as a spoiled princess! I can't thank you enough for taking your time and money to save her, and then to let me give her a new "forever home!"

I've attached a couple of pictures of Daisy & I, and once we get some good ones on the beach I'll send those as well!

Thanks Again!

Hi Brandy,
Just wanted to drop you a note to let you know that Gracie(Apple) is getting along just great. She is such a sweetie.

Yes, you can post it to the website. He is sooooo spoiled and we just love him. It's like he craves attention, which he gets plenty. Do you have any advice on getting him to bark? We've tried everything we can think of but nothing seems to work except when he corners our cat and wants to play.

Here are a couple of pics of Harvey.  He gets to play Todo for my daughter’s Dorothy.  And he fell asleep on our couch after some running around late last week, so sweet.  He’s doing really great.  House training is going well, and when he does go in the house he uses the puppy pads.  He’s eating well and went to the groomers last week.  He’s been hanging out with us when we run our errands and has even made a trip to the mall.  I haven’t been able to track down a puppy purse so he hangs out in what used to be my daughter’s Eddie Bauer diaper bag.  He just snuggles right down and doesn’t make a peep.  Just sticks his head out every once in a while to see what’s going on.  He’s still a little skittish when it comes time to get a hold of him to put a leash on for outings, but I think that will get better with time.  He’s slept with my daughter the last couple of nights and that’s worked out pretty well.  He just lays right down, no fuss, and sleeps through the night.  My daughter can’t be happier with our little guy and neither could I.  Thanks so much!

I haven’t gotten a picture of it yet, but he’s fascinated with my full length mirror.  He sees his reflection and I’m pretty sure he thinks it’s another dog.  He scratches at it, sniffs, then walks around to take a peek at the back of the mirror to find the dog that’s looking back at him.  It’s absolutely adorable.  J

I thought you would like to see a picture of Shiloh adjusting in his new home. His new name is vermin as the other dog is rodent. Shiloh/Vermin is getting more comfortable but Rodent is off and on with him as she feels threatened by the attention I pay to him. The first week was extremely rough but he's adjusting pretty quickly. It took Rodent months to get to the point that Shiloh has in just weeks. Thanks for saving him.

She is a kind, loving, Mama's girl and I can't imagine life without her. She is well adjusted and plays well with her brother, Tyson and my granchildren. Thanks for what you do, Brandy!!

I just wanted to send you a few photos of Froto.  He, in just the last few days, has really started to come out of his shell.

He has found a ball that he loves to chase around our house and is very playful after  a bath.  He loves being outside with the family and then laying in bed with Josh and I at night.

Thank you again so much for your time and help.

Brandy:

I was just looking through pictures of my dog and thought I’d send you a note to say “thanks”.  I adopted him from you a bit more than a year ago.  A little 4lb puggle named “Monster”.  He was a birthday gift for my girlfriend who had always wanted a puggle, and they’ve been inseparable ever since.  We renamed him “Egan” and he’s topped out at about 24 pounds.  He is in great health, loves to play, and knows his commands “up”, “crawl”, “sit”, “rollover”, and more.  He loves people and other dogs and goes to a great dog daycare once a week.

Many people ask us where we got him from and assume it’s some sort of specialty breeder.  We take the opportunity to educate them on adoption and puppy mills.  So thanks for Egan, and thanks for helping out all of the other dogs and cats, too.

Attached are a few recent pictures of him.  Resting on the bed, running real fast in some deep snow, and on a shuttle bus.

Thanks!

Doug

Hi Brandy,

Your t-shirts arrived over the weekend … what a FUN surprise!  THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!  We will certainly wear them … once the weather warms up a bit!

By-the-way, we renamed Noodle to Radar!  Paul wanted something nautical, since we’re boaters.  Although when I tell someone his name is Radar, they immediately think about the show MASH!

He is doing GREAT!  He is the best dog, although I need to get him into obedience classes and around people and dogs!  He is getting growly and barky with other people.  We’ve taken him to Petco with treats and have other people give him treats.  That works well … he warms up to them quickly then!  What fun we are having with him!  He just LOVES to play and LOVES to sit in your lap!  He’s got me wrapped around his little tail!  I’m attaching a few pics.  Will continue to keep you up-to-date on his progress.  Our obedience class starts. March 29th, but I’ve already taught him to sit and lay down!

Thank you again for the very fun t-shirts … and for the wonderful dog!

Dear Brandy,
Just wanted to let you know that Wrigley exceeds our expectations.  He is such a good puppy and he's so loving, smart, and cooperative.  Since Wednesday, he has only had two accidents.  He's been doing all his business outside.  Today I took him for his first walk and he's doing pretty well walking next to me.  At night, he cries so I've been sleeping on the couch to be with him but he's doing better in that regard as well.

Thank you for rescueing him and for taking such good care of him until we could adopt him.  He's making us all so happy.  My daugther' has been here a lot and my friend came over to see him today.  Our son is coming to meet him this weekend and Wrigley is so good with everyone, even with new people.  He is such a sweetheart and such a cuddler.

We were all amazed yesterday as his bed was out of his crate and I had a big bath towel in there instead.  His bed was in another part of the room and Wrigley pulled the bed by its tag over to his crate, hopped into his crate, and was trying to get his bed into his crate, so smart!!  He loves to play with his toys and is already bringing us the toy we ask him to get.

Thanks again!!
